Before we start off, a small mere question to all of you, if you find a Mcdonalds outlet and some other unknown restaurant which offers better food at lower prices, both of these close to each other, which one would you mostly prefer visiting, I’m sure all of your answers would be McDonalds, same way when you consider cars, Toyota’s would be much more preferable than any unknown brand with the same features and low cost. I’m sure I’ll get plenty of negative responses after posting this article, but let me make it clear that this site has been made to help you make money online and I’ll write about anything and everything which will help you do so, although I have avoided writing illegal content. For those of you who think that porn is illegal, let me make it clear that porn is not illegal in most of the countries these days, only a few have restrictions on it and all of them ban stuff like forceful adultery and child porn.

Blog contests are one of the most efficient ways to build a strong brand for your blog and generate defensible traffic, and these days many people are doing the same, except that most fail at reaching their goals, and at the same time I’ve seen many blogs who reach sky heights with their contests. Most of them were big ones and provided huge prizes, but its until I realized that the main part of the success was on how they promoted the contest.

One of the most powerful ways to drive quality traffic to your blog is Linkedin, but most bloggers including me have neglected this. Recently Comscore reported that 65% of Linkedin consisted of people who earn up to $100,000 a year, so this means you’ve got a big audience if your site promotes expensive affiliate products. Conversions and sales are secondary, so for now lets just concentrate on driving traffic.

1000 visitors a day is a big milestone for many bloggers, but less than half successfully achieve this, most of us believe this as a great achievement mainly because this gives a rise to more revenue opportunities, as most networks accept blogs once they reach this level. This isn’t really tough and its possible for all blogs in all niches, but it requires some materials and planning which you can’t buy or outsource. I say this because if you own a blog, you’ll need the personal touch to build a community for yourself and this isn’t something which can be outsourced, maybe this is one of advantages faced by other internet businesses.

I first created my Twitter account in 2007 when it was just about to get popular, at its first impression I was like who the hell would want to use this? and after a few months I knew how wrong I was about it, but till today I stand up to this that Twitter is just a waste of time for common surfers and its just a tool for marketers and businesses. Thats why only marketers promoting B2B products and sites perform well. Other consumer related once don’t stand a chance, that is why SEO and MMO blogs write about Twitter as a great resource and which is the main reason for its popularity.

When it comes to blog promotion the free methods are the ones which are used the most and many of the most famous blogs today started their run with the help of these methods, but currently most of the free promotional methods are getting saturated and are not as effective as they once used to be. From the beginning of my blogging career one thing I belief which I was right about was creating a sticky blog, but still I really didn’t know the exact meaning of stickiness, like most people today I believed that a blog can be called as sticky based upon its design, but I recently found out what really a sticky blog is, its the readability and usability of a blog.

BuySellAds is undoubtedly the most high quality ad networks for bloggers, before getting into their network was the tough part, but advertisers would flood in after you make it to their marketplace, but recently they have reduced their rules a bit and are accepting a few medium sized bloggers as well. This is not only a great resource for advertisers, but for bloggers as well and most blogs which were not making a single penny start to earn a decent income after being part of this network.

Welcome to Dumb Little Blogger’s 3rd monthly traffic post, I couldn’t wait to do this post because from the past 2 months I’ve received great response from our readers for such posts. I was really hoping that there would be huge spikes in traffic in this month, but somethings didn’t go as I had thought. Even after facing many problems I managed to avoid a drop in traffic and I’m looking forward for big rises in the month of June. For those of you who have missed my previous traffic report, do check it out to get an idea on our audience and its growth.

Its been one year since I started my blogging career, actually its been one year and ten days to this date as I’m pretty late for this post. It was on the 19th of May 2009 when I started a blogging tips blog named Quidoscope and that day was very joyful for me as I’d launched my first ever website which felt like a great achievement and I guess I could never have thought that the challenges I’d face in the future would make this achievement look like a piece of cake.
