I bet all of you have heard about the new .co domains which have created a lot of buzz lately. I was a bit skeptical about this domain, from the marketers point of view that is, which was mainly because of the less than expected results from the domains such as .info and .org . All of you may disagree with me on this that .info and .org were failures, yes they were successful in the views of the common surfers, its just that I’ve got used to seeing money in everything that comes up online, so anything that doesn’t help make money is considered a failure according to me.
So as you all can see I was eagerly waiting for this domain to come out to the general public, as I wanted take this unsaturated domain to fill up my treasure chest with rich keywords. Unlike the last time, I have got some good amount of money to invest on my own ventures now, so I took the maximum advantage of this, but how well this goes I have no idea.
In todays internet, everything is controlled by Google, so the financial success or failure of this domain depends on the type of love it gets from Google, so this means if your planning this investment for capturing rich keywords on Google then its sure to be a risky investment. At the same time you could hit a jackpot if everything goes along well.
Currently the cost of the domain ranges from $25 to $50 depending on your registrar, and I surely think this is expensive, I lost half of my small savings for just a few domains, but the cost is sure to come down is a few months, but waiting till then will be foolish because all of the rich keywords are being booked on a heavy course and soon this will be as saturated as the current .com domain.
Making money with .co domains
All of you will surely know the best ways to make money using domains, my plan is to just own a few see the results from Google’s side and if it turns positive I’ll try to capitalize on it by building a niche site related to the particular keyword and if its negative I’ll sell it for a reasonable profit. This is surely the best way to profit from this, but you can make profits by parking it and placing ads on it as well, this method will give just a few pennies if your planning to park one or two domains, but will surely catch up to your pockets if you park huge number of domains.
I searched for hours to get good keyword rich domains and successfully found a few, I used the adwords keyword tool to its highest extent and I succeeded in securing a few domains in my name. The profits are sure to flow if you can get keywords which end with co, for example things like Pepsi.co and stuff.
I have entered into the domain niche for the very first time, so I don’t know the success that is going to follow this investment of mine, do give your views and opinions on my investment or personal stories of your own below in the comments.

I really don't believe that .co domains are marketable. It looks like a typo or something. But it don't see anything wrong when it comes to SEO because it doesn't matter with the search engines.

But this domain is not really easy to remember.
However, let me point this out, I believe that this domain will do a little advantage when the owner of the website or blog is a company where the name of the company ends in co.
Yes i do agree with you, but maybe the same thing went through people's minds when the .com came out, so there is no way we can judge it, its got all the properties of a great domain extension, so we need to see what it has in store.
