Building a powerful brand for your blog – learning from John Chow Dot Com
Before we start off, a small mere question to all of you, if you find a Mcdonalds outlet and some other unknown restaurant which offers better food at lower prices, both of these close to each other, which one would you mostly prefer visiting, I’m sure all of your answers would be McDonalds, same way when you consider cars, Toyota’s would be much more preferable than any unknown brand with the same features and low cost.

Effective ways to promote your blog contest
Blog contests are one of the most efficient ways to build a strong brand for your blog and generate defensible traffic, and these days many people are doing the same, except that most fail at reaching their goals, and at the same time I’ve seen many blogs who reach sky heights with their contests. Most of them were big ones and provided huge prizes, but its until I realized that the main part of the success was on how they promoted the contest.

1000 visitors a day : 8 practical web traffic strategies
1000 visitors a day is a big milestone for many bloggers, but less than half successfully achieve this, most of us believe this as a great achievement mainly because this gives a rise to more revenue opportunities, as most networks accept blogs once they reach this level. This isn’t really tough and its possible for all blogs in all niches, but it requires some materials and planning which you can’t buy or outsource. I say this because if you own a blog, you’ll need the personal touch to build a community for yourself and this isn’t something which can be outsourced, maybe this is one of advantages faced by other internet businesses.

Welcome to Dumb Little Blogger’s 3rd monthly traffic post, I couldn’t wait to do this post because from the past 2 months I’ve received great response from our readers for such posts. Top 9 viral marketing success stories of the decade
The success of a campaign can be measured with the help of the stats which shows how viral it spreads from its targeted audience. The twelve billion dollar marketing strategy
The marketing strategy I’ll be disclosing here is none other than the one used by Facebook and I call it a twelve billion dollar strategy because thats the company’s current valuation. Facebook is one such company which spent very less amount or almost close to nothing on marketing and promotion. It was their ideas and unique ways to tap into mass networks which brought the company to this level. They had to face many set backs, but they made it and I was really impressed by the way they promoted their sites and services, and I felt that I’d got a live example for my beliefs and principles on marketing.

7 things I do after publishing a blog post
I’m a strict believer that ‘content is king’, but I also believe that a king would get lonely and wouldn’t have any value without the queen and in this case our queen is marketing. In the past few months I have managed to produce good content (I don’t mean to boast
) and the traffic has been increasing, but still I must agree that I work in a pretty unorganized way which reduces the value of my hard work. But I have managed to put up a plan on what steps I take to promote the latest article and in the past few weeks my efforts are proven to be much more effective.

Case study: 12000 visitors without much posting and promotion
Again I’m a bit late with the monthly traffic post, but this time its more than just the sources and amount of traffic I generate to my blog. As you all can see I was completely off from blogging from the past one month due to my exams and I didn’t get the time to post a single comment to drive traffic, but fortunately I was happy to see a constant flow of traffic everyday and on the end of my exams when I checked out my traffic for the particular month I had a shock of my lifetime, as my traffic had increased by over 40% to 12000 visitors.
