A few years ago when I stepped into blogging the only traffic exchanges we had heard of was the traditional banner exchange ones which would give us a few bites and hits while taking away our precious site real estate and making it look spammy, or another way was to directly contact other webmasters in our niche and exchange banners and links with them, surely they too got the same traffic as us so their was really no point of doing so.
